About The Program
Kaam ke Bande empowers youth to take action against the unchecked growth of corporations under BJP-RSS influence. Inspired by Rahul Gandhi Ji's principle of "Ginti Karo," which stresses the importance of accountability, this program fosters active engagement with workers issues. It seeks to instill the values of Karuna (compassion), Sahishnuta (tolerance), and Ekta (unity), encouraging empathy and solidarity with working classes who drive our service economy yet face exploitation under crony capitalism.
Why we should care about working classes
Absence of Legislation & Welfare Protections
Studies reveal that nearly all working classes struggle with mental health issues, including stress, anxiety, and chronic pain, resulting from their challenging and unpredictable work conditions. The current Government's leanings toward crony capitalism have left companies largely unregulated, allowing them to sidestep accountability even in clear cases of exploitation, such as unjust 'ID-blocking' and unexplained wage deductions. Without proper rules or frameworks, the Platform economy lacks essential protections, leaving no room for policies to improve workers welfare.
Lack of Political Representation
Despite forming a significant voter base, working classes voices continue to be overlooked. Protests by Platform workers often face indifference and sometimes even violent suppression. Political mobilization is essential to stop exploitation and to channel workers collective power toward meaningful change.
What we offer
Real-World Political Experience
Apprentices will develop a "techno-physical" bridge between Congress Party and Working Class, engaging in outreach, organization, and mobilization.
Contribute to Policy-Making
Apprentices will work on a project assessing Working Classes conditions, contributing to formulate Congress Party's policy recommendations to the Government.
Develop Leadership Skills
The program equips youth with ethical, evidence-based political skills to counter extremism and uphold social values.
Understanding of Worker Welfare
Apprentices will gain firsthand insight into workers political and economic needs, with opportunities to elevate these concerns to corporations and Government.
Selection Process
Stage 1
- •All applications will be scored on the basis of their views on multiple parameters.
- •Successful candidates will be onboarded on our WhatsApp network and will be invited for a virtual orientation meeting.
- •In the orientation they will receive their initial tasks, successful applicants will advance to stage 2.
Stage 2
- •Successful applicants will then perform a 100 day field survey.
- •Specific directions for field survey will be provided in online review meetings which will happen monthly.
- •Applicants who achieve all the objectives of the survey will be provided an opportunity to organise working classes under the White T-shirts movement.
